Mmmmmm, 15min with a beer break. It is literally 6 bolts and unplug the tail lights.

Much much fun! It should complement the 2JZ better than the old worn out 9".

That’s awesome

Your doing gods work here.
Edit: S weet jesus Those mustang subframes are criminally cheap for what they are

Picked up this 3.73 Torsen equipped one for $700. They are wild cheap for what you get.

How much does the IRS weigh in comparison to the old?
![]() 12/02/2019 at 21:51 |

I'd add some more blue tape to mount it. Just to be sure.

cheap for a reason

it doesn;t look like the new holes are going to line up with the old holes.

How’s the overall width compare? Body work or no?

Your jib.
I like the cut of it.

With rims and tires? Damnnn
![]() 12/02/2019 at 22:12 |

It is 75lbs more than the 9" and leafs.
![]() 12/02/2019 at 22:13 |

It is 4" wider than the 9". No body work is needed. I will probably widen the tubs though because I want to go 315 square.

How many mustang components can you add before you're legally obligated to warn crowds?

I think any more than this and I need a layer.

They are 18x11 FR500s with 305 NT555Rs.

The blue tape will hold it well.

YES! Man I have been wondering about a project similar to this, but on a C10 or ‘94 Impala SS. I’ve done a lot of work on A and G body GM’s and think the full frame really lends itself to projects like this since you can tweak it independently of the body itself. Thanks for sharing the project; I’ll be watching this one closely.
(I’ve also got a 2J block tucked away in the garage and your swap gives me ideas.)
Is it just the four mounting points at the corners of the subframe? What’s the width on those?

Nice! It looked pretty tight before, but I don’t know what you had for tires/wheels before, either. 315's are some big boys indeed. The ones on there already aren’t exactly skinny

This subframe in particular is about to explode in popularity with how cheap they are, provided that whatever car/truck people are putting them in is wide enough.
If you have instagram @2jz_f100 is the best place to get updates from me.
Yeah, those for post are the stock mounting point but for my purposes I am going to cut those off and make some brackets that slip over the frame and solidly bolt to it. I can’t remember off the top of my head what the width on those mounting points are.
